Samsung S7 making calls by itself

[AC Question]

My Samsung S7 was on charge last night, and it made a call to my girlfriend's Samsung who was next to me at the time - both of us were awake at the time, and we got the fright of our lives when we realized the two phones were connecting without any human interaction. I have run a malware scan on my phone with no results. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what the issue might be?

Welcome to the forums. Couple things come to mind, do you have NFC on? There's also another feature that I can't recall...essentially it knows when another user is in range...something like that. Would have to go back to the manual, but it's either tied to NFC or something similar. Or, maybe your phone was just lonely and wanted company.

Thanks for your input - checked the NFC settings, and it's off, unfortunately ... I activate it when doing pay pass, but deactivate it afterwards.

I think ur problem is just a software glitch. But if it continues to happen again and again then you should worry about it. Do you lock your phone after use? You should lock your phone after using it by quickly pressing the lock key. Nothing will happen until you press this button again and then swipe the screen to unlock. I used to leave my phone unlocked in my pocket after using, that's why sometimes mis-dialing issues occurred. Now I always lock my phone and leave it in my pocket and till now never mis-dialing problem happened.

Was the screen wet or moist? It may have caused it.

it happens to me too and every damn time, it calls my wife. no matter who is the last dialled or who is the most called person that day, my s7 just calls my wife. it has more than a 100 times in 2 months.

At least it is calling your wife, if it called someone else's wife you might have to get a bigger doghouse.

Did you try all the basics? Wipe both cache? If so a factory data reset might be in order.

This is happening after 12.00 at night surely Samsung has an answer
