Samsung S9 Dual WhatsApp won't sync contacts!?

Go to Setting -> Search for "Dual Messenger" -> Turn of "select Separate contacts for your second apps"

And then it should work.

I spent about 3 hours to find a solution of it on Youtube and on other websites, then I found your reply on Android Central Forum.

You have saved my time :) Awesome. Please keep it up. You are doing a great job, Life saver :-!:-*;)

Oh great, this solution helped me to resolve one month pending struggle with duplicate whatsapp. Only extra thing which I had to do is reboot the phone after configuring the settings.

Go to Call in WhatsApp and add new call, popup asking permission to sync contact press okay.

that worked perfectly for me, thanks!!
after the update to Android 10, I only saw numbers, not names on the dual messenger whatsapp. the "separate contacts" setting was already turned off in the advanced settings -> dual messenger.
following the steps above triggered asking for permission and to put everything back to normal

I am having trouble getting my second whatsapp account to sync with my contacts. I have all the permissions checked and have removed the account and set it up fresh again but still no joy. What am I missing? Anyone else having the same issue?

Thanks!

I guess i'm kind of late to answer, but i'm sure it would be of great help for someone who has the same problem.
So I just got my dual sim Whatsapp account, and it wasn't syncing my contacts. All you have to do is :
1) Go to settings on your phone
2) Advanced features
3) Scroll down to find Dual Messenger
4) Untick "Use seperate contacts list"
5) Close and reopen your dual app and it shld be working :)

Hi all,
my questions is how we can choose contacts to share with second app?
eg: i have 300 whastapp contacts and i have installed second whatsapp app. So there, a setting is available 'Contact Selection'. so how i can choose the contacts that i should display for the 2nd whatsapp? is there any settings in contacts app or does it work with newly created contacts?

I just found it out! If you go to the setting for the Dual Messenger, there is an option 'seperate contact list' at the bottom (dont know the exact name in English). You can press this (don't press the slide, but press the text) and there you can choose your contacts (press 'select your second app-contacts').

Hi Emma, I'm having the very same issue on the second WhatsApp account. The main one works fine but the second one can't sync contacts. I spent almost one hour on the phone yesterday with Samsung support but they were not able to fix it....

Greetings,

Very easy to sort this out. For Samsung User

Go to Setting>Advanced Features> Dual Messenger > Use separate Contact List > turn off this option you will see Contacts in dual app.
