Tty playing it with VLC. It can play anything.I tried again and it played. However Video Player is still disabled. it was very small and grainy. The extension was 3gpp nothing more.
Could this have anything to do with the fact it came from an iPhone? On my son's iphone it was full screen and beautiful. Thank you. Marie
It's still a carrier issue. Text/MMS messages sent between iPhones are sent over iMessage.I guess after talking to my son, and explaining carrier downscaling... not the case in all situations. Videos he sends iPhone to iPhone via text msg are NOT downscaled and my Grandson proved it with same video. Has to be a Samsung issue.
I appreciate all the help.
Thank you all. Marie
Yes iPhone to iPhone uses iMessage and it is not scaled down. I wish Android had something similar but they really don't yet. Either have him email it or use Facebook messenger or something.I guess after talking to my son, and explaining carrier downscaling... not the case in all situations. We will. RCS is going to make iMessage look like yesterday's fish wrapper. Not only full-size, un-scaled-down files, but Direct Client to Client transmission - no carrier needed (for the file transfer - you'll still need carriers for the initial handshake - but maybe not even that eventually). That means, if you have the patience, sending someone a 2GB update file phone to phone, something iMessage doesn't do.Yes iPhone to iPhone uses iMessage and it is not scaled down. A friend of mine sent me a 3gpp video file, completely refused to do anything. It was 2mb and he has a Verizon phone and I have TMobile. He sent it to me on my Google voice number so the issue is on his end. The whole messaging is a GIANT mess on android. For video files I started using samsungs link sharing app. bypasses the whole issue. Just won't show it inline.I tried again and it played.
