Samsung SM-G870A (S5 Active ATT)

Hi, I've a question.

How can I get another android version on my Samsung SM-G870A.

At the moment I have 4.4.2 on it.

AP G870AUCU1ANE4
CP G870AUCU1ANE4
CSC G870AATT1ANE4

I live in Europe so I'm not connected to ATT and I also can't go to a Best Buy shop.

Is there any way to Root the phone so I can put Marsmellow on it (It's avalible for some NONE ATT modeles)?

And if I should reinstall 4.4.2 will the phone be simlocked or not (at the moment it's not) and if yes how ccould I get it unlocked?

You can only use AT&T software on that device. Updates require a valid AT&T sim. If you don't have one there is no other way to update. You will not find any AT&T firmware later than 4.4.2 so even if you did root you couldn't update to MM.

i own an sm-g870a and am on android 6.0.1, g870aucs2dph4. i don't know how to tell you to upgrade, but i'm guessing you have to find all the over-the-air packages from your version to the latest, and apply them using odin.
