Hello all,

Finally moved form my iPhone 6s to a Note 8 today and used Smart Switch to copy over all of my photos and videos.

The photos worked fine, however the dates on all of the videos got reset to today's date and so all appear at the top of my gallery. Not only that, but any videos in any albums did not stay in those albums.

Can anyone suggest away to possibly get around this (other than Google Photos)?

Sorry but --

Google Photos is probably the best solutions.

Uploading/backing up Google Photos on the iPhone 6S will preserve the dates on those videos. Using Google Photos with the same Google account on the Note 8 will keep those pictures and videos in order.

Another way - maybe backup those videos to a computer then manually copy them to the Note 8.

I was just going to say that. I backup all of my videos and photos on Google photos it works fantastic. Over the past few years I've got over 25,000 photos and videos. It's also nice because you can search just for videos and for specific types of photos and videos and get access to them pretty quick

Hey guys,

Yeah, I agree it seems to work. However, the Google Photos app on iOS gives me no way to easily select all of my videos. When I go onto the "videos" album and select a number of videos (or even one for that matter), there is no option to back them up. If I go into the "Photos" section and select a video the option to back it up appear perfectly fine. However, I have over 5000 photos that I would have to go through to select about 500 videos which is a painstakingly long task.

Not only that, but from the native photos app, if you select a video there is no option to "Share" with the Google Photo app as you can with other apps, so it seems there is no easy way to back up just the videos. I could back up all my photos but then I need to pay for a subscription for a month and was wondering if there was an easier way to do it. It seems not though, so I'll probably just may the $2 and get on with it

Thanks!
