So I am thinking of getting this tablet as I miss using Android. I have an iPhone and I used to have a Note 5 among others and I really miss using Android. The store I normally shop at has it on sale for $279 and was just wondering if this is a good tablet. I don't know the year it came out so is it less than a year old? And does it have 7.0 Nougat yet?

I believe you mean the 10.1 Note series? That's the only Samsung built tablet that comes with the S-Pen.

If it's truly the Tab A 10.1", the it could be the 2016 model released last Spring. It's listed on many websites for $229, the additional costs may be related to the S-Pen or possibly variant Tab A. If you can obtain a model number that will help us figure out which model you have and it’s a good deal.

Yep, that's the one I ordered. I paid the same amount, just didn't pay taxes on it.

I bought that tablet recently at Best Buy, and returned it the same day...why? The resolution is terrible...you can actually see the pixels on the screen....it really bothered me ...

Sorry

I just bought the international 32gb version and I like it. I gave my Note 8 to my grand kids, the software will never be updated again and the 16gb was limiting. Yeah I put other roms on it, but I took it to its max. The Tab A 10 has the Note 7 interface with the Spen, and it's fast enough for my needs, very similar to my Note 4. Works great for Web, movies, browsing and pdf editing. Works for me, yeah it's heavy but the battery goes all day. It's not for everyone but I think it's a great upgrade from my Note 8 for my needs.

Bought the 10.1 Pro (2014 edition). Best recollection that with non-typing case it was then selling for over $500. Great screen w/no complaints.

Gave it away last week when I realized I needed Windows and bought the Galaxy Book 12 (with included pen and LTE). Couldn't be more satisfied though the battery is not up to par.
