All,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 that has worked flawlessly since Oct. 2014. Last week, I powered it on, with 16% battery, it stated to plug in my Samsung Charger. So, I plugged it in, started to open an app, and boom, screen went dark and has not worked since. I went ahead and left the Charger plugged in and went back after about 30 minutes and the Samsung charger was warm. Well, ok, the battery is charging. After a few hours, the charger was cool and still, no power on for the Tab Pro 12.2

I have looked all over the internet to see how to resolve this problem. I have tried about all techniques listed out there. Tested the Samsung Charger with USB voltage tester and it was reading just below 5 volts.

Next removed the back cover and pulled the battery. My voltage meter read 4.33 on the battery. Is this a good battery? If it is, then maybe my main board is gone south!

thanks! :'(

Welcome to Android Central! Does anything happen if you press and hold the Power button for 15-20 seconds?

Maybe it's just the charge port. You could try replacing it.

The Samsung battery was left out for 24 hours -reconnected and no difference. I wonder if I should get another battery?

Probably depends on how much they go for. What's the range?

If you're using 5.3 Volt charger, it should read around 5.2--> 5.3 V, current should be around 1.7Amperes

Even 5 Volt charger, you should have at least 5 volts, anything under 5 Volts, something is wrong with your charger.
Try another charger, USB cable one by one to see anything is different.
If using known working USB cable and charger makes no different, you should try to change USB flex charging port, around $5 to $10,
If your tablet is charging when it's off, press the HOME button, it should show the green battery icon like this when it's full charge.

These troubleshoot steps you should do by yourself, no one can help or guess with many unknowns.
Post what you did and results may help me to assist you further, if you're doing correctly elimination method one by one, the problem can narrow down to the defective part : USB cable or charger or charging port or battery connector.

Guessing cannot solve your problem, if you have a cracked battery connector: remove the back cover, pressing directly on the battery connector and power on, it will help the tablet to turn on.
With available working parts, I can find the problem within 5 to 10 minutes.
