@mustang7757:Factory Reset Protection ( FRP) when its not done through settings it protects your phone and data
I still have not got a trade in email from samsung. Anyone else not get the email yet?
Correct the gear icon then settings>general management>Reset>factory reset@mustang7757:
by "done through settings", do you mean to tap the gear icon on the upper right,
then scroll to Accounts and Back up, the select "Reset", etc etc?
or is there another way to do this please? thanks.
i certainly want to be SURE that whichever way i do my factory reset completely erases all account log ins!
thank you in advance, @mustang7757

1. Is correct way , erase everything@mustang7757:
not to belabor the point, but i thought i might as well use this as a learning opportunity.
you said there are TWO ways to do factory reset.
1) via gear/settings/GENERAL/reset/factory reset
this first method REMOVES all account info, so this is the CORRECT way to sign out of all account automatically and factory reset in order to trade in a phone, right?
2) you said something about recovery?
even though this 2nd method does not apply to me currently, may i ask what it means and where this 2nd method pops up? is it when the phone goes haywire and the phone asks you to click to reset, then those software bugs' reset requests would NOT log you out of all accounts? i'm not entirely sure about when this second reset situation comes up and figure i might as well learn right now, while we're on this topic.
there's no better time than right now to learn! thank you @mustang7757
1. Is correct way , erase everything
2. Is if you can't for some reason get into your phone , say your keyboard doesn't pop.up to put your pin and password then you would go into Recovery Mode so that will factory reset but wont log u out your account and you will be prompt to enter your Google account associated with that phone
If phone off press power on hold the volume up and power button same time until you see a Andriod Bot then volume up/power button again select Factory reset in the menu with volume button and power button to select once its highlightedthank you.
how do you get into Recovery Mode if you're stuck without a keyboard, as your example says?
this is valuable for me to learn because unexpected things happen with software!
thanks in advance.
