well, you did it, you pissed me off, you lost me, earlier today while i was just cleaning out some boxes, i found a droid incredible 1 in the box, never opend (was supposed to be a christmas present for a freind, but he was a....let's just say he sort of pissed me off) so, i kept the box, the phone is brand-spanking new, yes i know it;s old, but, i found out that phone is now on 2.2, and slated to get 2.3 by august 1st....supposedly.

so, verizon activated it for me, the continuum still works, still fine, but, i have a new paper weight/clay peigon launcher ammunition/backup phone for now.

so, i'm on that one now, and happy, atleast i can run relevant apps!
YOU HEAR THAT SAMSUNG, A PHONE THAT CAME OUT AROUND THE SAME TIME FRAM YOUR (censored) CONTINUUM DID, AND IT HAS HAD 2.2 SINCE SEPTEMBER OF LAST YEAR!....

i'm done with samsung, DONE, terrible company, their support is copy paste/reading-from-a-script responses.

i'm rambling, but, (censored) samsung, seriously, oh, i'm taking back my samsung video cam, too, i'm DONE.

Atleast HTC gives responses that aren't copy and paste.

Any chance you want to tear that screen off and see if you can scrape off the paint for the soft keys?

Is there any contact info that would let a small group of us Continuum suckers barrage one particular customer service inbox at Samsung to try to get their accountants to reconsider finishing 2.2?

Maybe if they realize this $10,000 or whatever they are trying to save by letting Continuum rot will cost many times the future sales of what the continuum's current customer base is.

I was very Samsung positive before this. At a phone every year or two, that's about 6 phones from me that will be non-Samsung in the next decade if they don't fix this. Add in about 4 Samsungs that I convince friends NOT to buy and this little decision to alienate this tiny group of Continuum customers suddenly becomes very costly to them.

Their accountants are thinking it's fine to screw the few thousand suckers who bought this phone. But they really should multiply many of those customers by 10 to realize how this decision is going to affect their business going forward.

It wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't know that the Fascinate (95% the same dang phone) was upgraded and also that they DESIGNED CONTINUUM ACCESSORIES around 2.2! Even went as far as to put stickers on those accessories explicitly saying this. So it wasn't a decision to not do a new thing. It was a stop-loss decision to cut a current plan and leave existing customers out in the cold....one that couldn't have cost very much since the Fascinate was most of the work.

If this doesn't get fixed soon, I will NEVER buy samsung again..... Not phone, not tv, not laptop, not anything.

You aren't Apple, your customers actually have a choice!!! You are making this choice very clear to those of us who gave the Continuum a chance that you did not.

I have been consistently tweeting Samsung and Verizon about the lack of Froyo for the Continuum...basically, every time I get told - "we're working on it" blah blah.. but this last time - this is what I got from Verizon:

@nicki2377 Lamentably not all phones support all Apps; this is normal. Be assured we'll push updates when made available by manufacturer ^AC

Now the App I was asking about was the new GMAIL App...not exactly just an "app".
This was the response from Samsung:

@nicki2377 Hi! Sorry you are frustrated. I will reach out when I hear anything regarding the update. ^Sean

I'm getting frustrated - an 8 month old phone should not be end of life already. This sucks - OS fragmentation is a REAL problem.

Do you think there is any shot of whining about this at an Verizon store to try and get an exchange? I don't think it was reasonable for customers to expect Continuum wouldn't get the same updates as the Fascinate.

I have two accessories I bought separately at home that have stickers on them that say the accessories will be fully functional upon update to 2.2. These are Continuum specific docks, not just Galaxy S.

This is total BS to know that I have to wait another year and a half before I'm eligible for an 'upgrade' just to be able to run stock android newer than 2.1! If I've run across several apps that won't work now, how many apps won't I be able to use a year from now while I'm STILL on 2.1!

Anyone try to return/exchange a Continuum with this logic? Any successes?

I have a friend that was using the Samsung Charge, she said she exchanged the Fascinate for it with no hastle because apparently Verizon has been having so many issues with it. She just told them it was glitchy and they didn't even bother to check if that was true. Just gave her the Charge. At this point, I'd be happy with a Fascinate!

We didn't buy a bad phone, we got a raw deal from Samsung/Verizon. It's actually a very good phone and I like the ticker, which is why this 2.1 business is so frustrating.

Pretty much every review of the Continuum when it came out in November gave it top marks, some sites even ranked it above the Fascinate. We did our homework, Samsung is supposedly a 'safe' choice. I would expect slow or nonexistent updates with maybe the Casio and not be bothered by that.
