Android Central Question

My Samsung Z Flip 3 keeps adding widgets to the cover screen if I have the phone in my pocket. Usually the Samsung Weather app which I do not use. When this is enabled on the cover screen it also automatically opens when I fold the phone open and swipe to unlock the phone. Occasionally it buts the phone into full mute. I have no Widgets set for the cover screen and I have turned off notifications for the cover screen. In Display I have Accidental touch protection turned on and touch sensitivity at the default non screen protector setting. It drives me mad. Any ideas.

I have the same annoying issue. In my pocket, the external screen randomly turns on and turns the illumination level right down so that it is almost invisible. It swipes across to various commands and does things like turn on the timer, turn the front screen illumination right down, selects a different external screen display, and turn the ringtone to vibrate or off altogether. I’ve switched it from Always On to Tap to Show but it still turns on in my pocket and activates widgets. I have Accidental Touch Protection ON and Touch Sensitivity OFF. Worst when in pocket of tight jeans.

I am in need of assistance,
My Galaxy Z Flip3 5G model SM.F711U1 cell would appear to have a small programing glitch. Or optionally, I’m a dummy who is unable to see the obvious setting (probability; high) which you will point out.
In settings under cover screen there is no “hold settings” button.
Note that I consider this to be the perfect pocket cell. I’m not one to carry a cell pouch/holster or other encumbrance. This is a great piece of tech, just dump it in an empty pocket and go. No worries.
I routinely pick it up to find the clock style has changed. It adds Widgets, usually all of them. It starts the timer (see adds Widgets). It does this numerous times a week. It turns the volume/vibrate settings to zero often several times a day. Sometimes when I’m quite active and sometimes just sitting around. Being bumped? Assume it must be, but not noticeably and there doesn’t appear to be a pattern to the annoyance. The setting for not changing things when dark (such as in a pocket) has no effect.
A pocket phone that can’t be depended on to ring or announce a text isn’t of great value nor bragged about. A small cell that folds smaller and yet can’t be relied upon carried in a pocket is a bit of a “why bother” product.
This is the cell that replaces my Luddite’s love, Tracfone. (Kept for its size and robust design.) I like my new Flip. But it can be a bit better.
Help.

I had a similar kind of situation a while back. The widget would get added and the position would get shuffled by it's self. I wish I had an answer for you, but it just went away and been working fine since.
