San Francisco Bay Area 4G

Sensorly is showing that a load of new 4G towers have come online in the past two months in the bay area. Sprint seems to be giving more love here than almost anywhere...

Sensorly maps shows almost the entire SF Bay Area covered in 4g, but thats far from accurate...

Am I just reading the map wrong or what?

In San Francisco, I think they are still testing because some days the towers will be on (very strong signal), and other days it will be off. In Pacific Heights when it is connected, I get great speeds 5-7 Mb/s. I started getting low signal in the Mission now too. Hopefully by the end of the year, everything will stay on!

I see 4G at work, by Bay Street in Emeryville (80 & Powell) and near Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton (580 & 680).

well today was launch day and wow... not impressed at all.

Sure, the speeds are fantastic. IF and only if you can get a signal. There are gaping holes of coverage in the major cities and only what seem to be useless patches of coverage in the suburbs. Driving around on the freeways or in the cities, it's on and off again in a matter of seconds. very sad.
