SAR 1.42 watts /kg

For perspective, I looked up the Samsung S7 on that website, and it looks like it's even closer to the maximum. I believe that reading is the maximum it will ever output, not what it does at all times.

The S7 has very low SAR 0.264 (head)

Looked up my current device (LG Flex 2) which has SAR 0.440 (head)

The Honor 8 has a very high SAR 1.42 (head)

That's not normal and like i said maximum allowed US is 1.50 (head)

Were you looking at the exynos or the Qualcomm version? Because the Qualcomm (US version) is 1.24, with 1.59 for the body. This is the S7 I'm referring to.

S7 is 1.59 with hotspot active simultaneously with wifi and lte - u. That's a highly unlikely situation.

Good point, I was just looking at the same source as the OP. I'd be interest to see a breakdown of the Honor 8 like that if it can be found.

If you are wondering why the s7 is 1.59,they pulled power to be legally acceptable.

Hold on let me see what I can find

Thanks for finding that. The peak one seems to be band 5, but the one that gets my attention is band 17. I'm on AT&T and that's the primary one in my area.

Can someone who has the phone confirm the fcc id? I want to make sure that I posted the right thing

The S7 actually has a higher number for body and while using as a wifi hotspot. "The SAR for simultaneous transmission (cellular plus Wi-Fi) is 1.24 w/kg at the head, 1.41 w/kg when worn on the body, and 1.59 w/kg when used as a hotspot."

Taken from https://www.sarchecker.com/samsung-...rating-dangerously-close-to-radiation-limits/

The Honor 8 is 1.19 for the body, and 1.38 for Wifi-hotspot.
