Saving phone contacs?

using the OTA 2.1 update so can anyone tell me how to transfer my cell phone contacts to my gmail acct? Or is that possible? Trying to sync my phone but not doing it correct i guess,need help.

Try this

Go to menu-settings-accounts and sync then click on your gmail account. you will see the wheel start turning. That is your contacts, calendar etc being backed up. Hope this helps.
