Saying goodbye to Big Red, what phone should I get?

I have decided to drop Verizon Wireless. My ex and I were on the same plan, grandfathered into unlimited data, but Verizon refuses to take her name off of the account without changing me to a tiered data plan. I have been on the Galaxy Nexus since the day it launched, and it is hands down the best phone that I have owned in my life. I will most likely be switching to an unlimited prepaid plan through either Straight Talk or T-Mobile, and purchasing an unlocked GSM phone.

For the price, the GNEX is hard to pass up, but with the next Nexus rumored to be launching in the next couple months, I'm on the fence. Should I pull the trigger and get the GNEX? Should I buy a difference GSM phone all together? Galaxy S III maybe? HTC One X ? Somebody point me in the right direction, plzzz.

Well, sorry to see you go, Verizon can be a little incoherent sometimes..but thats beside the point.
For your question. I would wait for the HTC One X+.
The plus is going to be PACKED with performance. Quad-Core with 1.7ghZ. Its your best bet in my opinions. :D

Isn't the One X+ going to be an AT&T exclusive? Which, I believe, means a 700 Mhz radio instead of the 850 / 1900 Mhz that I am looking for.

In the next month or so the supposed next nexus (possibly LG made) or multiple nexii will be announced. I would wait and make a decision. Depends if you prefer the stock Android experience or can deal with the manufacturer skins. Tmobile will not have lte until 2013 fyi. Hspa on att is 850/1900 I think. On tmobile it's 1700/2100. Hopefully soon tmobile will complete refarming the 1900 band for hspa. But tmobile's goal is to run lte on 1700/2100. Sorry if you already know this. Regardless the nexus line is usually hspa pentaband so you can use hspa on both att and tmobile. As for lte, it's questionable if 1700 lte will be available in us phones for tmobile this year.

Only lte is on 700. I know eventually att will also use 1700 in order to expand their network

I ended up picking up another Galaxy Nexus to hold me over until the Nexus 4 is released. I know that the 29th isn't too far away, but just in case they aren't available immediately after the announcement, I wanted to have a good phone.
