Scaling to 1.6Ghz

Just curious, why/how/when did the phone get scaling up to 1.6Ghz/ I haven't tried it yet, but I have the option? All I did was flash ComRom 1.3.

I tried it... my phone froze... I had it stable at 1200 but I am back to no overclocking.

Yeah, I don't plan on doing it because I have found absolutely no reason to.. just curious as to why anybody would need it at this point? Any apps that don't run fluidly with stock speed? No overclocking for me, not until I absolutely have to (which I probably wont, I'll be able to upgrade by then)
