Scheduling Texts

Using the default messaging app with the V20 there was an option to schedule texts which I used on a regular basis. The same option on the V30 exists but I am in to schedule anything.

When you start a new text and put the schedule in it changes the "Send" button to "Set" which is the expected result. But as soon as I start adding contacts it changes back to "Send" and then never schedules the text.

Anyone else use this option and having any issues?

Me!! I just went to use it and its not there?? I swear I've used it on my v30 before. I used it often on my v20. Honestly I'm so sick of LG though! I never ever thought I would say it but I want a Samsung. This is ****.

So you have to compose a new text and select schedule sending...enter contact information...a message pops up to tell you it will delete schedule sending...hit cancel and it remains set on the contacts text conversation...pain in the *** but very possible...

It works fine on my V30. I'm also running with Oreo. I'm sure others would agree. I would also think twice before going to the dark side. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

I don't use the stock messaging app. Don't like it. Pulse Messenger has SMS scheduling, though.

Elizabeth Deal answered this question correctly above. THESE ARE THE STEPS; New message. Enter message. Schedule sending. THEN hit save to schedule sending. THEN enter recipients. THEN the message pops up that scheduled sending will be cancelled with option for CANCEL or OK. DO NOT HIT OK! CHOOSE CANCEL... OR YOUR BACK BUTTON. THEN CLICK the word set. That'll do it.
Was it ALWAYS this much of a pain? NO. I DON'T THINK ANYONE VETS THIS STUFF BEFORE PUTTING OUT NEW PHONES OR PROGRAMS. THEY NEED PEOPLE TO DO EXTENSIVE TESTING AND LET PROGRAMMERS KNOW THE GLITCHES BEFORE THEY CAUSE US TO GO OUT AND BUY SLEDGE HAMMERS. LOL

I'm with you. Couldn't get the calendar to sync with my old Samsung calendar, or even my old Google calendar! It's a serious pain to try and assign different text/notification tones to different contacts, and now I can't schedule texts either?? If you're a professional photographer, the V30 is great. Otherwise, stick with Samsung!

I'm a longtime Samsung Galaxy user.....and after trying the LG v30, I'm going back to Samsung! I'm not a professional photographer, so I really don't care about 16mp wide angle cameras all over the phone. What I DO care about is convenience things, like being able to sync calendars, being able to assign text-ringtones to different friends & family, and being able to schedule texts, so that when I think of something at 1am, I can schedule a text to the other person at 8:30am, and get my message across, without waking the other person up at 1am, or having to wake up myself at 8:30am when the reminder goes off on my calendar.
Bye FeLGicia!

Textra solves all these problems. I don't even bother with the stock app. Samsung LG whatever. Textra.

The reason I am going back to Samsung.

I first started using LG phones after the Note 7 debacle. Loved my LG V20. And I had such high hopes for the LG V40. That is, until it was actually released. Not good. Plus, the latest upgraded ruined the ability to schedule texts.

Bye, LG. Hello, again, Samsung.

As others pointed out, you can use a different text app to schedule. I personally use Handcent, and it has the option. If that's the only reason you're abandoning the V20 for Samsung, then it's a poor reason.

I agree, though, that the V40 doesn't appeal to me either. I'm keeping my V20.

Not to derail this thread but other than the 3300 mAh battery what were you expecting?
