Wow. I just found this scratch test video of for the Galaxy S class phones. The glass looks really strong. Plus there is a drop test.

YouTube Link

Enjoy!

Very interesting. At least for a common real life situation: no worries if it gets mixed with the keys in your pocket.

Also, loved the blurred out Steve Jobs caricature popping up.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the crazy Japenese animations and such in the video, and the fact that the entire video is an Japanese. But you can get the idea, the screen is pretty tough, and the drop strength seemed equally nice.

Watching the phone fall on to the street was a nice real world test. And it was dropped at waist level, which is where most drops occur I would think.

A bit of wisdom for you, steveholtam: For future reference, just say Asian. And if anybody gives you crap for not knowing which Asian country, just refer to all of Asia as a single country and nobody will want to argue with you anymore, therefore earning you a Win. ;)

Korean, sir. ;)

What's the difference?

Easy now, step away from the banhammer- I was only kidding!

Seriously, I was wondering why "Japanese" when it's a Korean phone- but I didn't go to the link- (and figured- "hey maybe the Galaxy is big in Japan!") so I thought nothing of it.

Actually, Im HUGE in Japan :)

Sorry about guessing the wrong Asian people. The bad is mine.

It's still is a good video. I think I'm going to go unprotected with my Epic because of it.

Hey, don't worry about it. ;) I thought you might wanted to know about it.

I really hope my future Epic 4G doesn't fall like at the end of this video.. My current phone (iPhone 3G) has gone through similar [falling] scenarios. It's still intact, though.
