Wish I saw the depth to gauge better but Displex does penetrate & build up over the course of a few applications. It will likely fill it in to the point it's flush w/ the surface, no thumb gouge.

Not sure why that is but I'd attribute that to the fact touchscreen manufacturing and materials used gary greatly. I used it on my Omnia II and many others have on their phones, as well. Displex even has demos of it used on phones. So that's very bizarre.
P.S. My best guess is that they don't recommend it outright b/c if the scratch is cracked/scratched deeply, the liquid may come into contact w/ the qctual LCD.

Never had an issue with scratches either - always keep in pocket and never used a plastic cover. Biggest thing is to ensure nothing else is in your pocket, particularly not any keys.
I have never ever used a screen protector. OG Droid and Droid X until this phone. And I must say, I beat the crap out of those screens and never a scratch. I had my first Rezound for a week and a tiny scratch showed up on top - I have no idea how it happened but I'm thinking whatever glass they used on this phone does not hold a candle to what Moto puts on their phones. I am going to be annoyed if this phone starts to get scratched up. In 2012, there's no excuse to have to put a screen protector on a touchscreen phone.
Complete myth that people need to stop buying into. As stated earlier, grit/dirt/sand is your biggest enemy when it comes to scratches. Read up and watch some videos on GG and other fortified glass. It can take a beating from coins and keys. As soon as sand even comes into contact with it there are scratches.
Hey crzycrkr, I'm not finding the Steinheil Ultra Crystal screen protectors listed for the Rezound anywhere. Do you know where I can get one, or is there an equivalent phone that I can order for?
Wow, I just looked on their site and its like they completely ignored the Rezound. There's a few other good brands. I used to use Boxwave and liked them. Ask around in the Rezound forum about a dry application protector. Avoid wet application ones like the plague.

Dude! Same thing happened to me! I have a scratch right in the MIDDLE of my screen! I hate it and I don't know how it got there! I have a case/holster combo that faces it inward on my hip. They skipped out on the Gorilla Glass for this phone so it's not protected from scratches like other phones are!

Lol, here we go again. Its fortified glass from another manufacturer. No screen protector equal scratches at some point, gorilla glass or not.
All I can tell you is that I have carried every touch screen phone the same and never had a scratch. Maybe I was lucky, but I think not. I know many people do the same as me and no scratches either. What bugs me most about mine is the scratch happened in a two minute time period while the phone was in a CUSHIONED pocket on top of my lunch cooler. Absolutely nothing in there to scratch it let alone a scratch that feels as if it almost cut entirely through the glass. I am talking about a rough edged gouge in the glass. I would imagine it taking dragging across a sharp rock or using a key on the glass to produce such a scratch. Not simply walking across the shop with the phone in my lunch box, in a cushioned pocket all by itself.
I don't like screen protectors, but plan to install one just so I dont have to feel that scratch! Lol

Having gone through several Droid 2's with gorilla glass it seems to me not all hardened glass (whether it's gorilla glass or not) is made the same. I had two d2's that suddenly had minor scratches on the screen as well..even though I babied the phones. They were deep enough that running my finger over it was very annoying. Another D2 I had I literally dropped twice on pavement, screen down and not a single scratch.
Haha, no enemies. Sabotage my Android, must've been an iPhone owner!!!!! LOL.

Just read any screen scratch thread. I'll do the short version. You have just been lucky. Grit that can scratch all glass, including GG, is everywhere. There are just as many threads in forums for phones with GG. When someone gets aa scratch they look for something to blame. Simple fact is grit/sand that can scratch the screen is everywhere, including empty pockets, and possibly on your hands.
No screen protector = scratch sooner or later no matter what kind of glass it is
