Screen Animation Speed

Just out of curiousity, what speed if any do you keep your window screen transition speed animations set at? I used to set mine at .5X but put it back to default 1X oly because I do love watching the animation, and I have found that ath 1.5X, it takes a little too long to complete each window animation.

I kept all those settings at 0 but had to change them back to one because it interferes with Google search results not showing up on the screen without having to switch between the tabs like images and what not in order to get the results to appear

What I'm trying to say is I don't like the animations and prefer that there be none

Usually i feel the same way, however on the S8 I have found that if you keep the screen animations at none, it'll also mess with the AOD and the lock screen. That's why I kept it at .5X but then just today changed it to 1X just to watch the beautiful animations. I tried 1.5X but ti just seemed a little too slow for my tastes.

I have mine all set to zero and haven't seen any issues but I only used AOD for a short time. I also use Nova instead of TouchWiz which may or may not mean anything.

I like stuff to pop so I don't care much for animations. I have my PC set up the same way.

Ah, I see. Yeah Nova Launcher could definitely be changing thing up a little bit for you. I love using Touchwiz again for sure. I'll have to try No animations one more time and see if it works well.

I haven't felt compelled to change animation speed since the G4. Stupid 808. 3 gigs ram too.

I understand what you mean. I love to get very technical with my phone, and fine-tune all of the settings; make the phone my own. I'm trying the "no animations" out again to see if it plays well with the AOD. If it does, then great, but if it doesn't , I'll put it back to 1X.

I just changed my window animations back to 1X. It just seems so much smoother for the OS over all, and the window animations are beautiful to look at! The phone also seems a lot less choppy of course.

This is the first time EVER I haven't felt the need to change the animation settings.

The 835 has made a new man outta me in letting my phone just rock out any way it wants.

I went back to 1x. It's the smoothest and cleanest setting for me.

I also think TouchWiz is decent but small things like not being able to place the apps button in the center of the dock and some of Nova's gestures seal the deal for me.

I can understand that. Again I haven't used TouchWiz in years but I love what I'm saying so far in the Galaxy SI!

The weird thing is I don't like TouchWiz too much on my Tab S2. The version on the S8 is definitely much improved.

A negative to using Nova is a couple of Samsung's widgets won't work with it. I'm torn between the two launchers which I guess isn't a bad thing. Options are good.

You're absolutely right, not only do a couple of Samsung would just not work but the Samsung theme engine for the UI doesn't work either unfortunately. I just tried to download Nova Launcher just for a quick temporary solution I went right back uninstalled in my right back to TouchWiz. My father has a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 at home and his touchwiz is pretty laggy but yeah the Galaxy S8 and touch with are perfect!

Yup. Nova has done a good job of staying up to date. I have zero complaints about Nova. I ponied up for Nova Prime quite awhile ago and do not regret it one bit.

Like I said options are good and we can all find a way to make our devices work the way we want them to. That's probably why we all use Android. That's one of the appeals of Android to me. You can do as much or as little as you want.

I couldn't agree more! Android has always been and will always be all about making the device your own and customization to the full extent of the law! But yes for the record, on a Galaxy S8 TouchWiz is finally beautiful to use! It's never been like that before in my experience. And I should know I've had all Google Android phones before and have put Nova launchers on all of them. Other than disabling all the bloatware on my phone, my phone is just cleaned out the way I like it and set up perfectly just the way I like it.
