Hi,

My LG G4 screen goes black out after I make an outgoing call or after I receive an incoming call.
Basically, it just goes black during call.

The screen wouldn't wake up despite me tapping on it, or pressing all the available buttons.
Holding the power button does trigger a vibration, but I don't see a thing on the screen.

However, it does wake up when I plug in the earpiece.

Note that the screen is asleep all these while, and it's not anywhere near my ear. Hence I'm not so sure if it's the proximity sensor issue if you are thinking of that...

Anybody experienced this?

Thank you

If you have a screen protector on, try taking it off ;)

There have been many many posts about this. I have found that on our LG G4, removing the glass screen protector fixed the problem at once. A useful utility to check the sensor (and many other things) can be accessed by dialling (on phone dialler) 277634#*# This gives access to a range of testing options. The relevant one in this case was the Key Press Test, which shows the status of the proximity and light sensors. Thanks to whoever posted that earlier.

Can anyone plz recommend a best plastic/non-glass screen protector??

Although you asked for a plastic screen protector recommendation, I have been using this glass one from Pleson available through Amazon. I have not experienced any sensor issues. I cannot post the URL because I am a "new guy"

LG G4 Screen Protector, PLESON® LG G4 Tempered Glass Screen Protector, [Full Coverage] 0.2 mm Ultra Thin 9H Hardness 2.5D Round Edge Premium Ballistics Glass Screen Protector for G4

Well i don't have or ever had a screen protector on mine and i still have this issue. So what are the next trouble shooting steps?

Hi. I got the same problem. If you have changed your screen or had screen repair recently, make sure you transfered all rubber parts from old screen around sensor are to your new screen. It helped me!
