Hey guys, so I got the system update from last month that grays out the navigation buttons. But my screen still has the burn in. Do you think I should just let it go and get used to it? I really don't want to do another RMA

If it's real burn in and not screen retention, no update will fix that. Screen burn in is hardware 'damage'. Basically the pixels are burned out and can't light up as bright as before.

The update only fixes screen retention and helps prevent future burn ins.

I had that same fear and finally pulled the trigger on adb. I absolutely love it. Immersive mode and full screen at all times. Granted the squeeze feature doesn't work unless you swipe up the navigation dock. but I can deal with that for the sake of screen burn in. Loving the true screen size at 6"

Whatever it is called, I am noticing on my lock screen that I can see the constant shadow of the menu buttons from the bottom of the screen.

sometimes I wish they'd just go back to dedicated buttons and be done with it.

I'm not noticing anything but just for fun what's the best way to check? Take a picture of a grey surface and view it full screen?

It doesn't bother me at all...But keep looking...You'll see that all the icons at the top WiFi, Lte and bars,BT,battery. They all are burning in.

AC (Alex) is done beating a dead horse but they must know its there by now.

Not seeing it mine... Have it since November 7th.

I RMAd my first pixel 2 xl because of burn in of the nav bar. More than likely the burn in started before the update and you just noticed it, that is what happened to me. RMA was quick and easy
