So after not having success via the SDK to capture my Ally's screen (it would show my phone's MEID but had it as offline), I found an app in the market called Screen Shot It that did the trick.

The dev has it in both free trial (5 captures) and a paid version. It is for rooted phones, however, he said that it may work on some unrooted phones. Since I have not rooted my Ally yet, I gave it a shot and it worked. Also allows you to save the pics in different formats (i chose .jpeg) and is easy to do - can select a timer delay after clicking the button to take the pic. My main screen captured below.

Just passing this info along

Update: Shootme app also works on non-rooted Ally, however it was a little glitchy and the method for taking the pics isn't that great (shake, loud noise, cover light sensor) but is free vs $4.

Shoot me is even more glitchy if you move it to SD card, so I recomend keeping it in your phones memory if you use it. Also you can't beat the price.

The latest version of Shoot me is just to buggy. Going to give Screen Shot a try & buy it if works better, I have a Ally and it's rooted.
