Screen dimming in games is gone. Can I enable it again?

In Oreo, if I was playing a game but I paused it or maybe something was going on but it wasn't my turn to play, I could hit a button on the top right of the screen (in landscape) and the screen would dim as if a backlight was turned off. Now that my phone has updated to Android 9 Pie, that option is gone. Can I bring it back? I've hunted through all the settings to no avail.

I realize now that this is specific to Samsung. It is part of Galaxy Game Tools. Can someone move this thread to the Samsung Galaxy S8 forum? Thanks.
