Screen doesn't wake when text messages come through?!?!?

Does anyone know why? I just came from the S3 and it's buggin the heck out of me. My phone does not wake up when I get a text message??? This sucks! Someone please tell me something good but please do not tell me to try another SMS app. Thanks in advance!

I was looking online tonight to find out the same exact issue. Hopefully there's a setting that I missed and someone can point it out.

BTW this happened after I updated to the recent 4.3 update for the S3.
