It's time to trade up my P6P to a P9P XL. I had a film screen protector on my P6P and never seemed to interfere with the touchscreen (I never bothered to use the wonky FP scanner on it). I'm thinking of getting another film type screen protector put on my new P9P, but since Google now uses a better ultrasonic FP scanner, I might use it and wondered if it hinders the new FP scanner on the P9P.
My wife and son both put glass screen protectors on their iPhones, which are both cracked now, so not going there.

I'd be interested to hear how it works for you if you try one. I'm using a glass screen protector on my P9P XL and it has made the fingerprint sensor much harder to use.

I'm using a film screen protector with the P9P, and it's totally fine! I use the one from Supershieldz. The first thing I do when I get a phone is put the protector on, so I set up my fingerprints with it on.

Great to hear! Also, I watched a comparison between the P9P and the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and they said the Galaxy's more anti-glare was better at minimizing reflections than the P9P. I assume the screen film helps on that?

P9P XL is a beast of a phone congrats on upgrade. Best Pixel ever

I'm using a Spigen EZ Fit glass no issues for me

Looking forward to it! My P6P is getting on my nerves...screen brightness is too dim outdoors, speaker is usually not loud/clear enough, horrible problem with the networking radio not able to send a simple 30 second video and other connectivity issues - definitely looking forward to a change!

I have had a Spigen Liquid Air on my P6P, and protected the phone from many drops, so ordered one for the new P9P XL. Going to try the film for a screen protector again though. Seems like too many people I know with glass ones have cracks in them. I never had a problem with the film on my P6P, except it started peeling off on the top right edge because of the stupid curved screen on the P6P. Clad to hear your screen protector isn't affecting the FPS.

Yup yup some peeps having issues with glass but if film works you should be good, screen brightness outdoor is excellent.

I am also using one of these and it's fine. But it's plastic protector not glass.

Supcase
Exactly. My wife's glass protector had a hairline crack in it within a week. My plastic film one lasted a couple years before it started to peel at the corner, and blame that on the P6P's awful curved screen

Interesting...I also have a glass screen protector on my P9XL and it is blazing fast. It blows my old Samsung S22U out of the water.
