screen Icons moving

I need some help. I cant find the setting that locks the icons so that they don't get delete from the screens. I have had the phone for 5 weeks and it seams like very couple of days there are icons that are deleted and I have to re add them to the screens.

What am I missing?

I'm not aware that the default launcher has this ability. Third party launchers like Apex and Nova allow you to lock the desktop. I'm sure others do as well.

Is this possibly because the apps are getting updates from the play store and as such don't get moved to their original location or folder?

I don't see this happening without user input. Any chance you're accidentally dragging them off with a long press?

Check if you have create icon on desktop ' unchecked in play store settings. If you keep adding icons it might bump stuff around.

I have to say it seems odd there is no 'lock to desktop' in the default launcher. Guess that is a good reason alone to use a different launcher. I've accidentally moved icons off into oblivion myself :-(

they seam to be missing after the screen shuts off.

create icon on home sceen is checked in the play store. its the 4 icons along the bottom of the screen that seam to have the biggest issue.
