Screen Lock type cannot be changed on Samsung Galaxy 6, how an I change it?

Screen Lock type cannot be changed on Samsung Galaxy 6

Experimenting with Direction Lock for Screen Lock Type, but keen to revert back to Fingerprint. However, cannot turn Direction Lock off (the On button will not revert to off) and cannot change Screen Lock Type, when I press this is goes straight to screen to confirm Direction Lock?? Have tried configuring new fingerprint and setting it as default. Have to go through Other security settings and clearing credentials as suggested in an old forum, but this is greyed out. Not sure what else I can do beside reconfigure entire phone and start again, which I'm not keen to do....

ok so i have just enabled direction lock to test your problem
and when i went back to disable it it just asked me to draw the lock pattern then i could disable it
go to settings - accessibility - direction lock
draw the pattern then flip the switch to disable it

Mother forgot direction lock & gets in using backup pin. How can U turn direction lock off in this case?

same way but when you get to draw the pattern just do it a few times even if its wrong then it will ask you for the backup pin
