My issue is the following: i am making a call and i have the phone at my ear. After the other person answers, if i take the phone away from my ear, i.e. to use the keypad, the screen although is light, the touch feature is locked and i have the following green bar at the top. I have to press it in order to have the screen touch responsive.
Has anyone encountered this issue? Any suggestions? I am attaching a photo.IMG_20181001_134236.jpg

When the phone is up against your ear during the call (or when you cover the proximity sensor), does the screen go dark? Some phones allow you to disable the proximity sensor, so that might trigger this kind of feature in order to prevent accidental screen touches during a call.

Hmm, weird. I don't have that phone, so I can't test it out. Open the Phone app, tap Menu>Settings, and see if there's anything there about locking the screen during a call.

So the problem returned but i found out what was causing it.
Last December i bought a fitness tracker from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075V5QN4X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This uses an app called Verifit Pro found on google play.
While the 'fitness tracker' (let's call it watch for now) is connected to it, the phone locks as soon as the screen turns on. The android system thinks and acts as it would be connected to an non-trusted Bluetooth device.
I could not add this device to Smart Unlock feature so consequently have uninstalled the app.
I have to say i did not have this issue on my S7 Edge, so one more issue for Huawei.

Thanks for the update! It could help others facing the same issue.

further to this i got a reply from Huawei UK Customer service:

'Dear Horia Cretu,

Thank you for the reply.

In response, we inform that even if the tracker is connecting to the phone via the app is using Bluetooth.

The connection between both devices is made by Bluetooth via the app of the tracker.

In this case, there is no issue on the phone, it is automatic and how calls works when connected to a Bluetooth device.

Should you have any other issues or questions, feel free to contact us at any time.'

Such an unprofessional way to reply. Samsung clearly found a way to differentiate Bluetooth headset from fitness tracker.
