I ordered a Note 10 + for my wife recently. Though it is renewed from Samsung, it is newer than mine that I have had since April.

Odd thing is... her screen is brighter than mine and on the same exact settings. Can screens get less bright over time? I have tried finding something in settings to no avail.

Nope. I think I figured it out. Using the same wallpaper, which primarily which is where I noticed it, I had apply dark mode to wallpaper on my device. She does not use dark mode.

Glad you figured it out, but the technical answer to your question is yes the screen can dim over time. With traditional LCD screens, you have one backlight, so it wears out evenly as it dims. With smiles screens like your phone, the pixels themselves create the light. They also wear out and dim over time, but there is a chance it can happen unevenly and cause what people see as burn in. If you view a lot of mixed media, this may not happen. If you primarily use only a small number of apps and keep a lot of static imagery on screen (especially if on high brightness), those pixels will wear faster than others, leaving a permanent shadowed effect no matter what you are looking at. I.e. If you type a lot, you would see a discolored outline of the keyboard appear over time even when the keyboard isn't pulled up.
