Hey all, just wondering if this is a common issue. My Epic, when pressed down on the left edge, middle of the screen makes a squeaky noise. I also see the glass move down and become more recessed below the black plastic edge of the phone. About less then half a mm. When I open the slider and push on the same edge there is no noise. So is this a big deal? Im thinking it isnt. I guess im just afraid the glass might separate or something.

This is my second epic and they both make the noises? Im guessing its just the black plastic bezel being pushed against the second half of the phone(Chrome plastic).

OKay so after looking into it further this is a non issue for the noise. It turns it out it is the black plastic bezel pushing against the chrome trim around the phone. However the screen does slightly move inwards when pushed. I still hope that the screen wont separate.

Replacing phone for this reason? Jeez you ppl are anal. Just get thee insurance which you should get any ways and replace the phone when it quits on you to the point of unusable. I hope sprint stops the practice of replacing the phone for these non issues

What do you care if they replace it or not. Sprint obviously thought there was something wrong with it cause they tried to fix it and decided to replace it.

I exchanged my phone for this reason. Granted, the capacitive buttons weren't very responsive either, but my replacement phone is much better.

Mine has this exact "issue"... but I wouldn't even consider taking it in and asking for it to be replaced for it though. I don't think I could honestly look someone in the eye and tell them that I just had to have a new phone because of this. I'd feel so foolish, I wouldn't even be able to take myself seriously...

Sorry for bringing an old thread back to life, but just thought i'd chime in and mention that I just got an Epic and mine does this as well (build date 9-16-10). Like others have said though, not worth replacing over.

I have the same "issue" as well. Noticed it as I was wiping my screen and wiped along the edges. On the left side (mainly the middle of it), it started to squeak. I didn't see that screen go in so it wasn't much of an issue on my part. Surprised people received replacements just for this alone.
