Hi there,

I think the first thing to determine is
are the 2 phones in question: G900A and G900V

" (and is not a Google branded device running OS 6.0 or later like a Google Nexus or Pixel) "

from: https://support.roku.com/article/20...mirroring-with-your-android-or-windows-device

We're both running 6.0.1 but I don't know how to determine if we're
"Google Branded" on not.

Can someone please clue me in on this?

And then maybe we need an APP?
Recommendations there would be welcome also.

Thank you!

EDIT:
No APP needed but the process is different for the 2 since one is AT&T and the other VZ.
I think I've got it figured out but will need to test later today so I'll report back on progress.

In the parlance of the article, they're both Samsung-branded.

As the article says, different phones do it differently. Samsung devices of that era cast to Samsung TVs and Chromecast, neither of which is any use to you eith the Roku - just connect a Chrimecast to the TV and use Google Home to cast to it.

No, for this situation they're both S5s, so the process is the same. (Or, you could run Kodi on the phones and forget about the Roku entirely - but you'd still need the Chromecast. Anything you can run on Roku, you can run in Kodi. Just remember to use a VPN.)

Well it was 'almost' exactly the same on both.
I was able to add Screen Mirroring to my Quick Settings on the G900A
but the G900V doesn't even show it as an option to add to Quick settings.

I've seen a few other differences so I'd not call them the same.
Same hardware but different Verizon vs AT&T firmware or maybe they mess with the OS, not sure, even though they both show as 6.0.1 in the About Phone / About Device area.

Anyway, problem solved as both are now able to mirror to the Roku Stick.
