Screen mirroring note 10 plus

Am I missing something but has screen mirroring disappeared from the note 10 plus?
I used to have it on the drop down where WiFi, torch etc is in note 9. Tried to connect via chrome cast and it says device not compatable. I can connect through smart things and get photos and gallery stuff on, but used to use it to connect Instagram TV. Puzzled

I use the Google Home app to mirror my screen into Chromecast. I am coming from a Note 8 which didn't have the option you are talking about. Sometimes I have to reboot the phone to be able to cast. I'll try the app you are discussing.

For mirroring it into a PC, you can use Microsoft's app (forgot the name), or SideSync (my preference). (Update (Jan 26th): SideSync finally died and it wasn't worth it for the hassle. FOr mirroring to a PC - "scrcpy" - look it up on youtube - is fantastic.)

I noticed a similar issue but in reverse, ever since my Note8 got the Pie update. Initially I was able to mirror from my TV (Samsung) to my phone, but ever since Pie, and now also on my Note10 +, it is such a hassle to try to mirror from my TV to my phone and vice versa. My wife and I were trying to show my Mother-in-law our proofs from our wedding, and it took a while for the option to appear in the smart things app. And now the app doesn't list 2 of my 3 TVs as compatible devices. Even though they're on the same WiFi network and BT is enabled on all devices.

Smart View is for screen mirroring. I used it on my Note 8 and Note 9. The problem I have on my Note 10 Plus is that it mostly only works after a fresh restart of the phone. I discussed with people in the Samsung support forums and they came up with nothing.

I have managed to cast via chromecast but only by doing a restart each time directly beforehand, as others on here said, which isn't ideal really

I know it won't cast to iPhones, and to be honest I can't think of a reason you'd need to.

Eh? I had the Note 8 too and it DID have Smart Things. I could:

Project TV to phone
Project phone to TV

I can even do the with my four year old Galaxy Tab S2.

I've used smart view to mirror my phone and use my apps, etc. Even used it to watch a football game intead of casting via chromecast. Now I'm curious if something has changed but I did this a few weeks ago.

I know it won't cast to iPhones, and to be honest I can't think of a reason you'd need to.

It would let you show photos to someone across the table so you could both see them at once, and wouldn't have to risk passing the phone back and forth.

Did u try restarting your phone?

To answer my own question, I guess an app such as Skype or Duo would be the right way to do that.

I'm having the same exact issue. Connecting can be quite difficult, but once I connect, I get my phones wallpaper on the tv only. It mirrors nothing else on my phone. However, if I go into gallery on my phone while connected, I can view photos. I can't stream any content from the browsers, nor can I see my phones icons, settings or anything other than gallery content.

I've worked on this with samsung tech support to no avail. They had me clear the data from the smartview app and reset all my phones settings back to default neither of which worked.

This is a crappy bug to have. I bought the same phone from the same store for my girlfriend at the same time! Note 10+ 5g.
Her phone works on both our samsung tvs mine works on neither! We did the B.O.G.O. offer. You think the give away phone is a cheaper version, manufactured in another country? Or just a way they get rid of deffective phones?

Try and go to the smart view app and clear cache
