Screen not working on asus memo pad 8 - device turns on and off but screen is blank

How do I get Asus memo pad 8 screen to come on - unit turns on and off but nothing appears on the screen. Have charged for 24+ hours. Can tell that it is turning on and off by the sounds it makes but the screen remains blank. Devise was sitting in sleep mode when I went to use it again the screen did not come back.

Welcome to Android Central! That usually means that the screen has failed. Bring it to a repair shop (or, if it's still under warranty, contact ASUS).
