Screen on Time

Very nice usage!! :D I just got mine yesterday and spent most of the day setting all my apps/services up. Today I have a full 100% charge and will see how it does. :)
Saweet!! Keep us posted. I'm curious how it does for you. My first day was not quite as good, but I figured the adaptive battery still needed to set up

Well, holy crap indeed! Same as mine, I watch your crap on YouTube both on my Roku TV, and on my phone, Spotify, and one puzzle game. That's crazy screen on time!
I could've easily gotten another hour in to. So you're hitting around the same?

@The_Woo:

Battery down to 10% means frequent new batteries. NEVER allow the battery to drop below 40%. If you can't charge it at 40%, TURN THE PHONE OFF! (This it true for any lithium phone battery.)

Honestly for me I can careless where my battery dies or how long it's on charger. I upgrade every year but even when I upgrade the battery never feels worse for me. These days the batteries are so great that it's probably not as big a deal. Just my experience. If I to worry about going 40% or any % it would drive me nuts. Then what would it even be there point of saying this phone had good battery and I can go extra hours when needed if it's have to worry about degrading batteries and going under 40%. I think even for someone who upgrades less frequent it's no much of a problem since it will probably be what like 5-10% degrading at most over a period of 2-4 years depending on usage? I guess what I'm trying to say is enjoy your device and use it however it needs fit.

I hear ya!

But I've never had issues with this on my previous phones 5%, 10%, 15%, etc.... All batteries have held up well. Can't say I've ever had 8hr SOT though. So I'll probably be charging at 30% or more anyways

If you only keep a phone for 3 years its nonsense. After that who cares. Have been trying to kill my Pixel 2 XL for 3 years and can't and supposedly it never had good battery life to start with.

I paid no attention to any of the batteries in my last 6 phones and still have an N4 that works. I don't care what anyone claims I never see anything but normal 2 or 3 year wear. Regardless of how I treat the battery. They claim you shouldn't leave it on the charger all the time also...but I was an OTA Truck driver for 40 years and I have left my phones on charge all day 5 days a week then run them down till the red on weekends since I got my first handheld back in 91. Never made a bit of difference they all all lasted 2 years. Those early batteries were much worse.

The only crap batteries with bulging batteries and issues were iphones...They all were covered under warranty in the first year.

That 40% number is the craziest charge number I have ever heard of. LOL we would all have our phones off a third of the time if we followed that. Why you do think the default battery saver number is 15%?

Also surely it's better to not "artificially" reduce your battery capacity by 40%, as really this is what that is doing. Might as well get use out of the full capacity, even if the battery degrades naturally by 20% you'll still be in a better position than what the user above is suggesting.

Just charge the phone when it needs charging and don't worry about it.

Been charging my battery from 5% to 100% and that not going change and they have lasted me long time with great screen on-time.

I just got my P5 a few weeks ago, and while I will admit the battery is good, I haven't found it to be great like you guys are getting. 2-5 days is insane! I imagine that I have a lot of things on that I may not need, but what's a good place to start so I can get more battery life out of my Pixel? I have Wi-Fi, bluetooth, and mobile data on. I had on location but I turned it off because I realized I'm not going anywhere. I get about 24 hours out of the battery estimated with about 5 hours SOT with 30% left at the end of the day.
Thoughts? Help please!

See, that's a great question! I love my P5, I am averaging on regular usage (moderate/light usage) 1 day 20 hours. and if I drain my battery completely a little bit more. I am usually charging my battery back up at 40% battery though since I'm soo used to it. However, I am going to get used to draining it all of the way down. I have disabled everything that you have mentioned, with the exception of BT. I use my laptop primarily vs my phone, so my SOT isn't as high unfortunately. Overall though, excellent excellent battery life compared to my older Pixel 3 XL. I just can't judge at how good of battery life to be expecting vs what I am getting already...
