Screen protector already installed

Went to the ATT store and noticed a screen protector already installed on all of the units there. The manager at the store told me there is a 30 day warranty directly from Samsung on it. Not sure how true that is.

Anyhow, screen protector is there after I inspected dust buildup around the punch hole.

It's good to have a screen protector day 1 but don't count on it providing much of protection because it appears to be scratched very very easily.

Anyone else notice that ?

Screen protectors are as hard as the screen - they're meant to keep the screen from getting scratched. You can replace the screen protector for a few bucks when it gets bad enough. "Protection"? Not much. (No screen protector actually "protects" the screen, it just takes the fingerprints and scratches for the screen.)

(Drop a phone with the hardest screen protector on it, screen down, on a small, sharp pebble, and the protector and the screen will break. The protector, being tempered, won't break into shards, but the screen will.)

Finally! Companies think of installing a 10 USD screen protector out of the box! Always baffled me that the first think I have to do when I buy a new phone is go and fetch a screen protector than have it installed at some mobile phones shop coz I suck at installing them.

thanks for sharing this

Honestly what worries me more is the dust buildup around the camera hole punch. Not worried it'll cause damage to the screen, but this could get annoying. I already have serious problems with dust buildup around the edges of my phone screens. Not sure why the screen protector can't just cover the camera as well (and maybe just not have adhesive in that area). This is how my glass screen protector is on my Note 9, and I've never had any camera quality issues. Aw well.

I hope the actual phones that ship come with a screen protector pre-installed. I love getting a new phone, but installing a screen protector with zero dust is quite a maddening experience and mars an otherwise joyous experience. I was almost tempted to overpay T-Mobile for a cheap screen protector just to have a professional do this for me. I guess I may not need to!

Interesting. I wonder if that's going to come with it, or if it's something specific to the display models. (Having worked at ATT previously, Samsung would sometimes include things for the display models that didn't come on the consumer version)

I asked T-Mobile about this. Their rep told me that there is no pre-installed screen protector. Then again, when I asked about the availability of the 2019 Samsung Charger Duo with fast charge 2.0 in T-Mobile stores, she gave me a link to the 2018 model, so maybe we shouldn't trust the reliability of this information too much.

Yeah, I think I'm going to just try the cheap glass protector I ordered the other day, and have a Spigen NeoFlex as a backup in case glass doesn't work with the FPS.

Only Whitestone Dome glass protector will work with s10 fingerprint scanner.
