Hey, I've been following this Thunderbolt fiasco for a while now, and now that "soon" might actually come to fruition, I was wondering what case I should pick up and what screen protector. Any recommendations are welcome, but I'm looking for a hard, thin case, and an fingerprint smudge-free screen protector. Thanks!

I was just looking online for a silicone case, cant really find any yet. I like to get them ready for day one, so I dont damage my new phone right away - I know my luck.

I ordered my Phantom Skinz screen protectors, they are the best I have ever used BY FAR, and you get 2 for $10, not like that overpriced garbage at BB for $25 for 1.

Now I just need to find a silicone case...

Where did you order your screen protector from? I looked on Amazon and couldn't find a Thunderbolt one.

seidio makes arguably the best cases for phones

I'm going naked with just a screen protector though. The Zagg invisible shield seems to be a quality option

Would you recommend Seidio's screen protectors too? I have the invisible shield on my iPad, but it's screen protector is to sticky-ish.

Now that's funny.
The phone gots a lot of glass so one little drop can be a disaster.

This is true, a friend of mine has her whole screen shattered, with bits of glass sticking out and stuff, but it still works somehow.

they are my fav screen protectors, and you get 2 per package. easy to put on, they look great, and they "heal" themselves if you get light scratches on it.

my brother had an iphone 4 and dropped it with no case, it was ugly...

Ya, I was chilling on my bed last night, my fat cat jumped up on the bed and it slipped off, landed on some junk (old game cases) i had laying on the floor and scratched it up a little on the back, the camera.. No idea how such a small fall caused that damage to the back.. I was planning on returning it for the T-bolt when it comes out anyways (I bought it 2 weeks ago at best buy and have 30 days to exchange it) now I am a little nervous about exchanging it.. I am hoping they dont notice the scratches (a couple of decent sized ones ugh) You can only notice them in direct light but I am hoping they dont notice and if they do I'll do my best to bs it because I am determined to get my t-bolt pre-order lol.. I swear if my cat knocking my iphone off the bed stops me from getting my T-Bolt I am going to kill him LOL.

Anyways, back on topic I am leaning towards getting the blue Seidio case through amazon for $25, I had one for my OG droid and it worked out perfectly, I refuse to take the same risk I took with my Iphone, granted iphone is alot more fragile than the T-Bolt looks to be.

Hmmm... Otterbox (not yet released) or Seidio? I've had both on my BB Storm2. The Seidio is frustrating when you have to get the case off and mine broke on the side where the two halves meet; but it's still on the phone and keeping it safe.

What other options are out there for cases for our Thunderbolts?

otterbox's are fat.

I'm pretty concerned about my phone's screen getting scratched. Do the cases tend to reduce scratches to the screen as well (by virtue of the case being elevated over the screen itself) or is a separate screen protector really a necessity?

I've tried lots of different types of screen protectors. And my personal preference are the cheap ones that come in 3 packs from verizon. I usually mess-up putting the first one on. The second one I do perfectly leaving me one more for a swop-out later if I get a big scratch in the current one. I think that the cheap ones actually provide the most smooth and "invisible" surface. The expensive ones that "heal" and don't scratch are sticky to the touch. They also diffuse the light in a very weird and very noticeable way. I also especially like using a screen protector because it seams like with a bare screen, you can accidentally "click" things on the screen when your finger gets too close but doesn't actually touch. With a screen protector on you have to make a legitimate "touch" on the screen for it to register.
