Screen protector - do you use one or not?

Re: Screen protector?

I bought the 3 pack from verizon and cant seem to put it on without one dust particle finding its way in there.. im already on my second protector and there is a large, annoying dust particle in the middle of my screen. :(

That's why it's best to let the salesman put it on.

wipe it down as you normally would and use a can of compressed air to get any and all of the random dust particles that might land on the screen.

These screens are so tough & so beautiful that you don't need a screen protector.

Re: Screen protector?

I got a xoskin. Soon as I get home I am installing it. I steam up my bathroom to get dust down and wash really well before applying.

I messed up on my first one but got the second one pretty much perfect. I may keep it on for awhile, but I don't really like the screen protectors all that well. I think they may actually make the pixelation look worse.

Re: Screen protector?

I tried a anti glare before and it pixelated the crap out of it. I just use the clear ones now

Re: Screen protector?

Debating on taking mine off...

Never really had a problem with scratching my screens in the past, but the VZW dude put it on automatically without me even asking him to do it.

I usually spring for SGP screen protectors... pricey but the quality is superb.

Unless you keep diamonds and the phone in the same pocket, why use a protector?

I got the basic ones from Verizon when I bought the phone.

They're terrible.

Don't buy them.

Well, unless you're like me and want to have something covering the screen until you find a better option. (In my case, simply to prevent any oil buildup until I get a decent protector.) Save yourself the $15.

They're a matte finish, which refracts the light from the screen like crazy and gives you that "sparkly" look -- or pixelation, as some people are referring to it. You really want a gloss finish. I'm going to hunt around on Amazon tomorrow and see what alternatives they are. These ones are so bad I cringe every time I use the phone. (Yet I'm still too anal retentive to take it off and get crap on the screen...)

Man I was about to get on here and say the exact same thing. I got the only style Verizon had and when I got home I was like "oh I thought these screens were supposed to be awesome, but this is terrible!" then I gently peeled of the protector and it was amazing haha. So I put it back on till I could find some better ones. If you come across some nice ones, send me a PM please.

I used to use screen protectors, but I stopped with my last phone. They always seem to blunt touch response a bit and make the screen less vibrant. I won't blame anyone for using them, but I'm going without one.

Agree, don't bother with the screen protector. I tried out the Verizon ones and made the screen look terrible. Took it off, much better and not looking back! :D

I feel your pain. It's very frustrating.

Just ordered this from Amazon, as their protectors seem to get glowing reviews for other devices.Unfortunately it probably won't arrive until I'm out of the country through Christmas, so I may have to cave and remove the crappy Verizon one so the phone doesn't look completely awful when I'm showing it off to relatives. :P
