I hate screen protectors. Hate them. I’ve not used one since my Nokia N8. But…I’ve just applied a Spigen screen protector to my Pixel as I’ve never paid £600 for a phone so want to give it the best chance of surviving a fall. It doesn’t cover the whole screen due to the curved glass, and doesn’t look brilliant, but I was just compelled to try one again for a while.

Anyone else using one, and more importantly, has anyone ever had a protector probably save their screen?

Anyone got any recommendations for a better fitting one than the Spigen?

Mine will probably stay on for a week knowing me…..or a day.....!

I got the glass+ from zag as they have saved my screen in the past... Probably. It's as smooth as the naked screen but doesn't cover the display😣. I'm going to leave it on until I hear reports of a protector that covers the full display and has high clarity.

Good luck to us all!

My husband went thru 3 zagg glass screen protectors in 2 years (and my daughter did 2) on Note 4's - I did 1.... Hubby using Otterbox Defender and daughter hybrid case.... I say they saved their screens from breaking!!!

I am using a Tempered Glass Screen Protector from VZW. Fit is not great but it works for me. As long as it keeps my screen from getting scratched.

I usually use Mr. Shield protectors on all my phones. Their warranty service is excellent, and will replace a protector if it cracks, comes unstuck, or even if you mess it up during install (though they are very easy to install).

If you have it in a case, you won't notice the gaps so much - but give it a couple of weeks and someone will come out with a tempered glass protector that has better coverage. I'm surprised there aren't film protectors with full coverage yet... but if you don't like SP's in general, you'll be least dissatisfied with tempered glass as they feel most like the actual screen and still offer pretty good (much better than film) fingerprint resistance.

As to protecting the screen from cracking, it definitely helps protect. An impact strong enough to crack the tempered glass but not the screen underneath it may well have been strong enough to protect just the sole screen (two reeds are tougher to snap than one).

This is the screen protector I am using.

The Pleson and the YooTech look to be identical....

I have seen these installed and so far they seem to cover the most real estate on the PixelXL without the halo effect...

Anyone using just a screen protector and no case, on their Pixel or any phone? Am tempted to try going that route. I'm taking my Spigen case off every couple of days just to check for grit etc just in case.

I always use Glass screen protectors and Fit Bag pouches from Amazon for all of my phones without cases. I am very careful and these usually allow me to keep my devices in pristine condition.

+1 for the Yootech
(Edited because it didn't quote the post)

Great screen protector! Two for $8
