"Your touchscreen might stay dark if the sensor just above it is covered. Don't use covers or
screen protectors (even clear ones) that cover this sensor. "

I just saw this in the manual. Does anyone know if this is really a problem? I was planning on getting a screen protector that would cover the entire screen.

I saw that too. My Thunderbolt's screen used to have problems going dark while I was in a call and I would always hit a bunch of random buttons on the screen while I was talking. But I'm not sure if it was a flaw with the phone or if it was the screen protector.

In regards to the sensor, xoskins pic looks like there is a hole cut out for the sensor but everything else is covered.

Folks, I just went to Verizon to see if there were any accessories. None yet, but I did discover that the Droid Charge screen protectors work just fine. Doesn't cover the sensor, located just left of the front camera lens. These protectors only cover the actual screen area, not the entire glass surface by the way. There were 3 in the pack. Hope that helps.

I have an xo skin on my xoom and as soon as I get home I am going to install it on our razr. Motorola Droid Razr Screen Protector [Motorola Droid Razr Screen Protector] - $13.46 : Screen Protector | Screen Protectors | Shield | XO Skins There is the link to the razr one. They dont feel like rubber and are fricken tough. Gorilla glass wont stop everything. Over time lil scratches will get on it

I put this one on (or rather a VZW guy did for me!) because I actually like the feel of the screen protector better than naked Gorilla Glass. I put a vzw one on my og droid two years ago and gave that still beautifully working phone to my daughter with the original screen protector on it. I still have the two spares from that purchase and this one looks identical.

I have the Zagg shield that is pre-cut for the RAZR it has the proper cut outs for the camera and sensors. and I personally like how the zagg's make the screen feel. 20 bucks at any Best Buy Mobile and they are lifetime warrantied through Zagg. I have one on every phone I own.

My next door neighbor is the ZAGG founder and CEO. I used to put that stuff on to support them but have never been a fan. I haven't used it for years now, ever since right before their IPO. I prefer the feel of the actual glass...

To each their own.

As long as the screen protector has the proper cutout for the sensors and camera OR the screen protector ends just under the sensors you should be fine. Never use a full sheet protector and cover the sensors, it will cause problems with the phone such as where the screen will go dark on calls thinking it's next to your face when it's not...
