On my pixel 9 pro XL there's a play system update and every time that I try to update it says failed to update. Any thoughts?

Try clearing the app cache for Google Play Services in Settings>Apps, then Force Stop it. Now try doing the Google Play system update again.

I tried that suggestion but alas it did not work. So at this point I think that it is a system problem as the same problem also occurs on my pixel tablet. I will say patience is a virtue.

That's true. I've been checking my 9 Pro XL and Pixel Tablet, and have not seen that issue so far (although both are still on the June Google Play system update).

A. Follow-up: I downloaded Android 16 qpr1 beta 3 and the problem still remains. I do not plan to reset the phone, I will just wait to Google fixes the problem.

@HyperM3 has the same issue, I assume you rebooted your device?

Mine's doing the same thing. I updated to the beta 3 as well but it was doing it before. Restarting hasn't fixed it. I'll let it ride and see if the issue resolves.

Just to let you know once I go down this rabbit hole, I contacted Google spoke with a very nice customer service agent and they are going to send the issue to engineering. We'll see what happens.

Well, the saga continues, Google reached out to me and suggested that I change to a different Wi-Fi network and clear the cache in settings. I did those things. However, no success. I suggested to Google that they keep working on the problem.

I've done both as well but the issue persists.
