Screen protector?

Hey all, asking for some advice on how to protect my Axon 7's screen.

I've generally forgone these clear screen protectors mainly because they are a PITA to apply, and I ALWAYS have air bubbles and lint that get caught under there. Also never felt the need to bother with them because I was victim to the carrier scam having to buy a new phone every 2 years to justify the higher priced monthly service fees.

Now, I am on T-Mobile with an unlocked Axon 7 I bought straight out. I'm a bit more compelled to protect the screen on this phone since I plan on using it longer than 2 years.

It seems to me the two most recommended screen protectors are the tempered glass one, that people complain about because it doesn't fit the Axon 7's curved screen, and the wet Delta Shield one.

I'm leaning towards the Delta Shield, can anyone who has this one weigh in? Is it easy to apply? I saw on amazon there was a review that someone ruined their Axon 7 because some of the solution from the protector seeped into the speaker grill. Considering how much of an uncoordinated klutz I am, I can see this happening to me.

So anyway, what do you use to protect your Axon 7's screen, if anything?

First step before applying a screen protector - be in a dust-free environment.

Second step - wrap packaging tape (2" or 3" cellophane tape) around your hand inside out (glue side out) and pick up all the dust on the screen.

Any screen protector is going to magnify a dust particle that you can't even see into a large bubble - even tempered glass shows some dust particles. But if you clean the screen first, the cheapest $2 glue-on plastic protector (I usually pay $5 for 3 of them) will work. (Mine have been on for over 3 years and don't show any bubbles.)

The Delta works good on my Axon 7. No issues so far.

How was the installation? Were you concerned about that liquid getting into your speaker grill and ruining the phone?

I think I'm going to have to temporarily tape up the speakers before application.

Thanks. The tape idea is a good one definitely.

Not worried at all, it's not like you douse it completely, just a mist to ensure it stays on. I did have a towel handy though.

Thanks everyone. DeltaShield worked out great. Before installing I taped over my speaker grills just in case.

I really suck at installing these but the Delta was very forgiving. Since you install it wet, it's easy to move around and reposition after you place it on the phone.

I had bubbles and crap even after using the squeegee, which was frustrating. But within 24 hours all of that went away and now you can't even tell I have a screen protector at all.

A+ I'd recommend DeltaShield

I haven't used a screen protector since maybe the iPhone 2 came out. Never had any issues at all. I dislike that they eventually peel and collect lint and stuff on the edges. Just not worth it imo.

Not to mention ZTE offers a darn good warranty, even for accidental damage.

Straight up Gorilla Glass 4 only for me. :)
