Screen protector

Not willing to spend 45 on a screen protector so it can lift i wont take the chances thats too much

I used the Galaxy Note 8 Screen Protector Glass (Full Screen Coverage)(Easy Installation Tray), amFilm Dot Matrix 3D Curved Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Tempered Glass Screen Protector 2017
I chose that because I didn't want top and bottom black and didn't understand that Dot Matrix actually meant it had visible dots on it.

To tell the truth it is great. The tray helped it fit perfectly and drop on in seconds and I was extra careful on cleaning so my first ever 100% perfect screen protecter installation (mostly used film before on flat screen phones).

It responds to a feather touch all over the screen with finger and pen.
It picks up fingerprints pretty easily but so did the phone screen.

The dots are actually almost never visible even on an all black background and dark theme but they annoy me when they are so I am likely to buy the Otao as my spare in case of impact. With the guide case I think alignment of the black portions should be pretty good. It's the side black that is a little worrying but running a case friendly glass protector I don't think you get shine through there anyway.

Just be advised that Otao is a dot matrix as well. I've had both and they are virtually identical.

just installed the amfilm and love it! this is the first tempered glass I've had work well on a curved screen.

Get the Whitestone dome screen protector. Can't go wrong

I bought that for a S9 plus. I read through the instructions twice, watched an install video, and then did a dry run. I wanted to make sure that I had it all worked out. Time for the real thing... work through the steps, take the 2nd cap off the glue, the glue drops and all runs off the top of the phone under it! Quickly cleaned the glue off the phone but the smell took much longer to dissipate.

No where in the instructions or video does it talk about ensuring that the face of the phone is level. My table is level so the contraption that held the phone obviously tilted the phone toward the top. I didn't want to try this again so I contacted Whitestone, returned the kit and they refunded my money. Great customer service from them.

This may be a great screen protector but the installation isn't for the faint hearted.

Yup. Even the edge swipe works with a case on.

I did notice a while back that notification pulldown was twitchy from my prefered top left.
Tracked it down to a stray pocket thread that was in just the right place to get pushed into a gap and had pulled that corner of the protector away. To be case friendly there is a small gap at the top and only the edges are truly adhesive I think.

With screen off I firmly pressed my thumb up the left edge of the protecor while diagonally pushing the screen to the corner with my other thumb several times and it restuck.

Trimmed the offending thread of course and despite the partial dislocation have seen no sensitivity issues in the month since.

Now 6 months in with that protector and it's as day 1 despite the glitch.
