screen protectors?

I bought the verizon 3-pack regular plastic screen protectors until I find something better. They are too small in my opinion. Could be a few mm wider and taller. No case is going to wrap around this much. Is there really enough of a curve on the edge that they are worried it will peel up on the sides?

Like other ones I've used the oil from my fingers start smearing all over it in no time. Maybe it's just what happens? Are the tempered glass ones better for that?

Glass ones are way better. It's generally as good as a naked phone so long as you buy a decent one. Some cheap ones feel good but definitely not as good at repelling fingerprints as Zagg or MIME.

I've checked Amazon UK and there doesn't seem to be any brand of screen protector that actually covers the whole display. Everything so far for the S7 has bad reviews :(

This is the con of having nice 2.5D glass on a phone...

Both Tech Armor and Zagg have curved glass protectors in the works for the regular S7. My guess is they didn't have final dimension specs for the screen curve but had to release something on day 1. Everyone seems pissed at the manufacturers but really the curved edge makes a flat glass protector useless.

I think I'll just have to go naked until the Zagg one comes out. This Techguard one I've got on here is annoying me. It's making a beautiful phone look and feel ugly.

I haven't always had screen protectors on my phones, in fact I never used one on my Nexus 5 which I had for two years and that phone never got a single scratch on the display.

I'll go as careful as possible and keep my fingers crossed! Knock on wood!

I had a microscratch on my Turbo within 2 weeks without a protector and I baby my phone. They can happen so easily for any reason.

I have a flip case, which should help protect the phone... I hope. It's not like I really have a choice, the current selection of screen protectors all suck. Need a decent one! Hurry up Zagg!

Well I picked up some cheap protectors and it was difficult getting it on straight (very thin) but even these halo with a case on. I may use one of the other 2, cut the edge 1mm, and try again. Also forgot how bad these film ones show oil and smudges.

I worry that curved glass protectors will also cause a fit issue with cases. Hopefully there's a middle ground.

I ordered an iCarez variant and it dose not even come close to covering the entire screen. Thankfully I got it from Amazon and there is free shipping back to the company I bought it from.

I got the Zagg glass screen protector with my phone from the Verizon Galaxy S7 accessories site ... dont bother, it's flat and stops before the curved sides so it laves the edge of the screen unprotected ... took mine back to the store (package does say it's for the S7)
I'm waiting on both Zagg and Tech Armor to come out with there full coverage curved glass screen protectors to decide which company
Also have used Skinomi on my phones and liked the no case feel
...trying to decide if i want the Zagg HD Clear for the back, Or the full coverage Skinomi for the whole phone , just so I can show off that gorgeous micro brushed finish that's on the back of the black version
EDIT: .. just ordered the Skinomi skin protector (whole phone) .. figured $8.96 + free shipping in the US was not too much to find out if I like it
Skinomi ... http://www.skinomi.com/samsung-gala...ns in my application will keep on diminishing

I bought a screen protector for my s7 from my local market they fitted it for me. There is a big gap between the edge of the phone and where the screen protect or starts this is due to the slight curve on the edge of the screen. The screen protector doesn't cover the whole screen. It's not so bad when the screen is off but you can clearly see the gap when the screen is on. It's abit odd. I'm going to keep it on for the time being and see how it goes. I can always take it off if I don't like it.

I have no experience with these, but I'm skeptical Zagg can even manufacture something out of glass that will have properly-curved edges. Are there glass shields out there for other similar screens? We'll see if the new product releases. I'm keeping mine on for now (non-Edge S7), but it's obvious that halo edge wants to snag on stuff and let dust/fibers underneath.

I can see it without any issue and I can say that I would be driven nuts if that was my phone. Its better than a Halo effect but not by much.

It's not the best but it does add protection. I had a long look on the net and so far there only seems to be this miss sized ones like I have or you can get ones that fit the whole screen. The ones that fit the whole screen seem to peel of very easily due to the slightly curved edge of the screen and then the ones I have do fit flat on the screen but come short of the full screen due to the slight curve of the screen. Alot of the protectors have a warning on them to advise that it won't actually cover the whole screen due to the curve.

Unfortunately it seems so far these are the only options we have which is not ideal as none of them are a perfect fit and both have negatives.

In saying that I would rather have the slight gap for the time being until something better comes out then have a scratch or cracked screen.

Someone will make a curved edge glass screen protector for the S7 and S7 Edge ... It's not like the screen edges being curved is a new idea, and they already make them to fit a S6 Edge

We will need to start a sticky thread with all confirmed full coverage glass screen maker info & links

in the mean time I have the Skinomi Tech Skin on my S7 , coverage goes all the way to the edge and it's not trying to peal up yet .. just was a bear to apply

Apparently curved glass protectors are a thing, and exist for other phones; I learned something. To be fair, I did get a speedy email reply from Zagg and was offered a replacement once the new design is released.
