Screen Protectors

I have one on temporarily from VZW but as others stated im waiting for Steinheil Crystal Clear screen protectors. The best in my opinion.

Installed my Zagg complete protection (screen, back, sides) last night and am happy with it. I'm thinking I may reapply the screen today, since I got some dust in it, but overall very pleased. I would recommend you give it a try if you're unsure about which protector to purchase.

Yes, I got mine off eBay (XtremeGUARD for Motorola Xoom). Yes, I am cheap ($6.99). No, I didn't get any bubbles. Yes, I took my time with the squeegee thing they sent with it, a credit card will work too. The instructions say the haziness will go away over a few days, we will see. If I don't like it I will pull it off once I get a leather notebook style case.

I am kinda leery about any of these, I did have a Zagg one on my blackberry (which I paid more than I should have for). I wasn't overly impressed. I am trying this one on the zoom and also got a few privacy ones (different brand) for my Droid Pro.

Truly the good news is that if I don't like them, that I can just peal them off and am only out 6-7 bucks instead of 20+

I had a few small bubbles here and there on mine when I first put the protector on. No matter what I did, I couldn't get rid of them. But, one thing I've learned with these screen protectors, is as they get settled onto the surface, those tend to disappear.

No bubbles, took me a few minutes to install...but then again I've installed 100's of screen protectors on different devices (I'm in IT) so I pretty much have it down pat. The one thing to keep in mind with ANY of the solution based screen protectors (like the Zagg and Skinomi) is that it will look like crap when you install it, there will be a bunch of tiny bubbles an streaks that just don't seem to move no matter how much you squeegy it. These bubbles DO disappear over the course of 3 days or so as it dries so don't fret. Just make sure you get all the large bubbles out.

Putting on a solution based protector (instead of the more rigid static cling dry protectors) is really tricky getting it on just right.

Which one did you put on?

I'm "trying" to be a fan of Skinomi, I hear so many good things but the tablet application just doesn't seem natural like a solution based phone protector.

Seeing the streaks & bubbles not settle after 6 or so hours and seeing it not cover the entire surface of the Xoom (which would of made alignment a lot easier, than lining it up with the camera and not a corner), I pulled it off.

I saw one guy on youtube put it on a Xoom and he soaked it, and he even sprayed the tablet, Skinomi (through their CS and instructions) told me to only use a few sprays.

I really like things made in the USA and want to use their protector, had it fit 100% I probably would of left it on to "settle" but I'm too OCD w/my gadgets - any tips?

I don't have a Xoom yet, although I am thinking of getting one. I played with one the other day and I was shocked at how much glare their was. It also was immediately full of fingerprints. A glass (especially Gorilla Glass) tablet should not need a screen protector, since with ANY about of reasonable care, glass is already scratch resistant. However, glare is really a problem with these large glass screens.

So onto the questions:

Do you find the glare on the Xoom within acceptable levels?
Are you using a screen protector? Which one?
How much (if at all) did it improve the glare?
Was it easy to install?
Does it look good? Bubbles?
Did it affect the touch screen sensitivity negatively?

Thanks!
