It looks like there is a screen protector that comes already affixed to the phone, does this come off? I wanted to put tempered glass on. Does it just go over this or do I have to remove the other one first?

OEM has to come off first. None of them are perfect so, now use bare screen which is how I prefer it.

While the stock one is a "screen protector", it's also a fingerprint magnet. Damn thing drove me crazy. I removed it and have been going naked for the last couple of weeks. Screen has no blemishes or scratches, so I'm going to live without for the time being.

If you do decide to go with tempered glass, you will need to remove the stock one first.

Going to pick up the mate 9 tonight, and I hate screen protectors. Never used them never will. Are you get less finger prints on just the screen?

Well, not sure if it's actually less or they just aren't as noticable, but either way it's much improved without the protector that came pre-installed on the screen.

I am not using any screen protector now and the fingerprint issue is basically gone. It's very easy to wipe the screen clean on my shirt or pants. This is the first time I have ever gone without a screen protector. Hopefully, I won't regret it.

(FYI - this is after using the OEM one for a few weeks - major fingerprint magnet - then trying an aftermarket screen protector - same problem)
