I just noticed I got a small 1/4" scratch on the screen :( of my Thunderbolt..
I don't know how it got there, and I know I should've bought s screen protector, but
Is there anything I can do to remove it? Thanks for any help.

If it's not a deep scratch, you can buy a screen protector and put it on. I had two small scratches, and had a screen protector from Best Buy put on. The screen has a nice feel now, and I can't even see the scratches.

Yeah the screen protector from best buy was definitely a good investment. It was little pricey around $20. But seems high quality and has lifetime warranty. Not like anyone is going to keep 1 phone for a lifetime

I've never bought one of this before. Which one should I get and do I just ask the mobile dept to put it on? Thanks.

I got this thing called Ghost Armor. Quality grade A mall kiosk marketing right there. It had diamond texture metal grilling all over the kiosk with LCD monitors playing some tv commercial with bad distorted guitars in the background. I hate just about everything (including the pestering salesmen that work there) about those places but there weren't many other options 20 feet away. In any case (no pun intended) they sprayed a smidgen of water on the screen, put the protector on, ironed out the bubbles, and let the screen set (apparently it uses something to adhere to the screen, it's removable but not without a solvent). I don't necessarily LIKE the feel of screen protectors nor do I feel like I should have to shovel 20 bucks for one (without at least giving me a sticker that said "SUCKER" on it) but I'm most definitely not going to get any scratches on this puppy. The problem with most screen protectors is that they too get scratches with time. I'm hoping it's somewhat resilient to tiny scratches. What's the point of a screen protector if it just looks worse than if you didn't have one? I'd like to see gorilla glass standard with a layer or two of scratch resistant polymers.

You mean THIS Ghost Armor? Here is the Thunderbolt specific page.

I've seen that Ghost armor in the mall and was thinking about it. How do you like it? Does it really work? Can you notice any of that protector on the phone? I was straying away from it because I thought of warranty returns and if Verizon would except a phone back with that stuff on it. I would also assume if you did get a warranty replacment you would have to go back there and purchase the protector all over again for the replacement phone (unless the have a policy where they would give a discount for returning users).

I believe it is cheaper to replace ghost armor but don't quote me on that. For an over marketed tacky product it works quite well. I actually can't tell by look or feel that anything is there. You can if you look at the seam but the material isn't too soft and rubbery. I was a first dayer so they didn't have thunderbolt in stock so I just got the EVO 4G cover. Same screen, can't tell the difference. The phone's bulky enough before cases and huge batteries so I won't be getting the case.

Also it's my understanding that most of these screen protectors are nearly identical products. The most important aspect is how its put on. There are bubbles at first but those go away in a day. If it doesn't look pristine in 24 hours come back guns blazing demanding they do it again free.

I ordered a skin kit from Phantom Skinz. It's a bit of pain to put on..gotta cut the power and pull the batt cause it's like putting on a damp decal but once it's done and dry it's literally on there like a second skin and if you manage to scratch it, the cuts heal somehow. I don't know how it works but I had one on my Palm Pre + and I loved it.

Sounds similar to bestskinever. I have had 1 of those on my mp3 player for over 3 years and it is still fine. The only problem is that on the corner sometimes they do come off, but the flat part they stay on forever. Just put one on my thunderbolt, doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I like the feel of the screen better with the screen protector on. My finger slides easier, it doesn't get stuck like it does on the glass screen sometimes. I just took one off my old omnia i910, and after two years of use the phone still looks like new. They are a bit of a pain to put on. It took me about one hour to put 1 on my thunderbolt because it has seven pieces. In retrospect, I probably should have just gotten the face protector but I got the whole skin because it was only 2 dollars more. Since I had it, I put it on.

Jodiuh,

Please report back as to how you like the ghost armor. I am thinking about trying it but I've been skeptical about it. If you ever had to swap out your phone for a warranty repair, would you have to take the ghost armor off? Or will Verizon not even care? Also how does it stand up toward scratches is it better than the screen protector, if you drop it does it protect against that or is that silicone case recommended in that case?

Anyone else who could attest for ghost armor?

Thanks all!
