The generic method is typically pressing the power and volume down buttons simultaneously.

I am using Samsung Galaxy phone and when I bought this phone, I was too curious to know how to take screen shots on my phone. But then I google it and there I found multiple screenshots methods for different devices. So, if you are having issues similar to me then help yourself from google. I hope you will definately get the answer for your respective device.
