Hi Gang, I haven't been around for awhile both because life has gotten busy, and because I really haven't had any problems with my G2 (after returning the first glitchy one within my 14 day window.) There have been a few minor screen anomalies occasionally (like the extra-sensitivity issue I've read about on here), but they've been minor and a power cycle usually remedies the problem.
But, for about the past month I've been experiencing something new: when I turn the phone from portrait to landscape orientation the screen will shut off. This happens most often when I'm using the camera (which is REALLY annoying, since I want to use it in landscape most of the time), but also happens in the web browser, but this is less frequent. With the camera, it will take 2 or 3 attempts before I can get the screen to remain on in landscape orientation. I've carefully monitored my use to see if I'm covering the proximity sensor or something like that, but that does not seem to be the case. Also, I have had the same screen protector on it the entire time I've owned this unit, and it has a cut out for the camera, proximity sensor, etc.
Guess I'm just wondering whether anyone else has experienced this issue and/or if anyone has any suggested fixes.
I'm on Verizon, by the way.
Thanks in advance for any wisdom,
TM
