Screen size comparison

I have a Nexus 6p and I'm seriously considering switching to the G6.

Today I picked one up in the shop and I noticed that the screen length is about the same as the 6p's but it is less wide.

I'm happy with the overall size of my 6p so in reality, the G6 (and S8) actually have *reduced* screen sizes in reality, though they are marketed as being 5.7 or 5.8 inch screens.

So is there anyone else there who has migrated to the G6 from a 5.7 16:9 sized screen who could let me know how it works in reality? Does it feel like a smaller screen in daily use?

I would prefer the G6 to have a larger form factor like the S8+. I've kinda ruled out that phone because a) it's 30% more expensive and b) it's so slippery for a clumsy oaf like me. And the FPS is all wrong.

Extra info

I don't have the option of trying out the phone and taking it back.

I'm in Singapore. The G6 is selling for $555 USD unlocked here with the 64gb and DAC included.

I came from a Mate 9 which is 5.9" 16:9 ratio and it took about 2 days to get used to it. Its smaller obviously but it doesnt feel like I lost anything. The phone is easier to handle for me and theres plenty of screen to enjoy games, videos etc on. At first I was skeptical of the new ratio but Im really enjoying it.

I am coming from Nexus 6. I can get used to the G6 pretty easily and getting better at a little more cramped typing (I could type without looking at keys of the N6, just look to select suggested words). However,if I pick up my N6 now, it looks huge and I realize how cramped the G6 is. I love the smaller bezels and theheight, but G6 would be perfect if it was another quarter inch or so wider, no taller. It is just a hair too wide for me to be comfortable using one handed on the move, so might as well be a solid two hand device. The screen ratio is no issue.
I'm pretty happy with it, but suspect that a Pixel XL 2 will be in my future. My main reason to upgrade now is that the camera on my N6 is so sluggish it's barely usable.

The G6 does have a 5.7 inch diagonally measured screen, however since it has a "thinner" aspect ratio (18.9 vs 16.9) the total area (sq inches) of the screen is about the same as a 5.2 inch screen with the note common 16.9 aspect ratio

The G6 seems to be smaller because of its bezel-display ratio, as well. It's a great phone that feels really good in the hand. I say go for it - it's a great option! :)

I came from the G5 but the Note 4 before that. The main thing I miss is the S-pen functions. Other than that, this screen size is fantastic. I don't have any trouble with it at all. It's easy for me to type on despite my hands being on the larger side. But there is a considerable difference in the physical size of the device compared to the likes of the 6p, iPhone 6+, 7+ and the Galaxy Note devices. It really depends how you use your phone
