Screen stays on after charge complete?

Very sorry if this has already been asked. I'm back to Samsung after being with HTC phones for years. Got the S4 (so far so good, though it does feel more plasticy than my Evo 4G LTE). I leave it to charge overnight, but the screen comes on when charging is complete (to tell me to unplug it) and never seems to go off again.

Is there a way to fix this?

If you havent already, Try a hard reset (remove battery for 30 seconds).
